Set goals around exercise. Be sure that the goals are realistic, specific, and important to you.
Maintain an exercise journal or log. Use a calendar to track how much, and how often you exercise. It could be a simple ‘X’ on the calendar the days we work out, or writing down the work outs we have done in a journal. Seeing how far you have come on paper can help push your forward towards your goals.
Find a workout buddy or group fitness class. Having a work out scheduled with a friend or even scheduling a fitness class can make exercise a social activity to look forward to.
Reward yourself for your efforts. It could be a bubble bath, new work out gear, a new book or magazine, or even a splurge, like a massage. Get creative!
Finally, think of exercise as a present you give yourself, a way to stay balanced and focused, and a time you can be alone with your thoughts! Savor the good feeling you get after completing a workout session.
