Maintaining the balance between finding success in your job and living the life you want can feel like an impossible juggling act. Here are tips to help you find some balance:
Be a source of positivity and encouragement.
We all have days where we don't feel like we're performing at the level we want to, or that we've missed one too many sporting events or science fairs. It's good to recognize areas for improvement, but focus on the areas in which you feel successful and let that breed more positivity and energy into your daily activities.
Do something you love.
Take time to recognize what it is you really love, and go after it. Of course, in any job there will be things you don't love, but if you're passionate about what's at the core of your work then you're doing something right.
Quality over quantity.
Spend quality time with your friends and family and really make it count.
Make time for yourself.
You may feel like you're constantly going, giving everything you have to make the people in your life happy. There's beauty in that, but it can also be detrimental to your health and happiness. Be sure to find your outlet for self-care. Whether it's journaling, exercising, or meditating - make that time yours and make it about you.
Take hold of the present.
We spend too much time worrying if we're doing the right things, saying the right things, or if we're making it all work. Focus on your present moment - whether it's at work, at home, on vacation, or out to dinner with friends - and just enjoy it.
