Adopting A Growth Mindset
The word “yet” is little but packs a mighty punch. “I haven’t done the laundry… yet.” Or, “I haven’t met my career goals… yet.” Big or small, “yet” often times has negative connotations. But it doesn’t have to! Your mind believes what you tell it. It’s time to adopt a growth mindset!
A growth mindset creates:
- Opportunities for change – positivity supports progress and welcomes reassurance that even small steps can lead to big changes. See that change forces you to reconsider your direction to make your “yet” more reachable.
- Resilience – while it can be easy to feed into negativity, remaining flexible and adaptable will allow for encouraging responses and self-talk.
- Makes failure less threatening – gently transform your thinking from failure to thriving and embrace it as a valuable learning experience.
Consider “yet” as an opportunity that one day, you WILL be able to achieve, conquer, and embrace the process. Have patience and turn your “yet” into a “yes.”
