Spring Cleaning Part 2 - Your Mind
Springtime inspires the desire for clean spaces (or maybe it’s just easier to see the cobwebs in the corner with more sunlight in the days!). In the same way, this is a perfect time to clear your mind by letting go of things that may be cluttering up your thoughts.
Use these tips to do a little mental purging so you can reflect, clarify and re-center yourself.
Acknowledge change. Denying that change is or will be occurring creates a mind game that isn’t possible to win. Staying flexible and open to change can improve your mental wellbeing while you manage uncertainty.
Build resilience. When you accept that change is inevitable, your thoughts begin to change. Worries can recede when you begin to consider ways to solve problems or actions you can take to fix things. Visit the Resiliency Toolkit to learn more.
Breathe deeply. Basic deep breathing is a quick and simple way to de-stress and still your thoughts. Building up a daily practice can improve your focus by clearing your mind of distractions.
