Financial Lessons For Kids
It's important to teach our children how to manage money - but budgeting spreadsheets are not for kids! A great way to engage children in the act of smart money-management is by using three glass jars. (Use recylced jelly or sauce jars!) Label each jar with their purpose; one jar is for spenidng, one is for saving, and one is for giving. As your children earn or receive money as gifts, encourage them to divide the money equally into each of the three jars. They will have fun watching the jars fill up, and you can discuss them with them why it's important to put money aside into these three categories. Happy saving!
