Stress Relief At Your Desk
For most of us, stress at work is inevitable. To reduce some of this stress, make your workspace and workdays as pleasant as possible. Here are some quick tips:
Make your space your own.
Photos of friends and family, personal trinkets, quotes that speak to you - these items provide perspective and help you feel more comfortable at work.
Stay positive.
If negativity is getting the best of you, externalize these feelings by writing them down and evaluating them from an objective point of view. Remind yourself of your organization's mission, and try to find the positive in every situation.
Breathe.
Breathing clears and energizes the mind by telling your body to relax. Breathe in through your nose for five seconds, hold for five seconds, then breathe out through your mouth for five seconds. Repeat as desired.
Make lists.
Feeling overwhelmed? Simply creating a list can help give you power over your stressors by organizing the mind. Focus on one item at a time to get things done.
