Dealing with Loneliness

We all experience loneliness at times due to various reasons, including social awkwardness or intentional isolation. Learning how to deal with loneliness is key to preventing despair and depression that can often become the result. Below are ways to deal with loneliness:

  1. Understand your Feelings of Loneliness.
    To make changes, you will to identify why you feel lonely. Keep a journal to track thoughts and feelings to help understand your feelings.

  2. Comfort Yourself.
    Realize that feeling lonely is a normal part of being human. Do things that will keep your mind off of your loneliness, and learn to do activities by yourself.

  3. Get Social.
    Take the initiative to spend time with family and friends.

  4. Enjoy Solitude.
    Work on self-improvement and making yourself happy.
